Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Meno Studio, Meno Core, the meno.so website, or any related services (collectively, the "Services"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Services.

2. Description of Services

Meno provides an AI-powered visual web builder that includes:

Meno Core (free) - The open engine for building, compiling, and exporting Meno projects as static websites. Includes CMS, responsiveness, localizations, SEO tools, and static site generation.

Meno Studio (free and paid tiers) - A visual desktop editor with a drag-and-drop canvas, built-in AI assistant, Git integration, live collaboration, and one-click deployment.

3. Account and Authentication

To use certain features, you must authenticate via GitHub OAuth. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your GitHub account and for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Services. By using the Services, you represent that you meet this age requirement.

4. Ownership of Your Content

You own your work. All websites, components, code, and content you create using Meno are entirely yours. Meno claims no ownership or license over your projects.

Projects are stored locally on your machine and exported as clean, static HTML/CSS files. There is no vendor lock-in. You may use, modify, distribute, and host your output without restriction or attribution to Meno.

5. Intellectual Property

The Meno Studio application, Meno Core engine, website, documentation, branding, and all related software are the intellectual property of Meno. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, or distribute the Meno software except as expressly permitted by your license tier or applicable open-source licenses.

6. Subscription Plans and Payments

Meno offers free and paid subscription tiers. Paid plans (Pro and Enterprise) are billed monthly through our payment provider, Polar. By subscribing to a paid plan, you agree to pay the applicable fees.

- Free tiers (Meno Core and Studio Lite) are available at no cost with certain feature limitations
- Pro ($50/month per user) includes unlimited projects, pages, CMS collections, and advanced features
- Enterprise ($1,000/month per organization) includes all Pro features plus dedicated support and custom agreements

We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days notice. You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

7. AI Assistant Usage

Meno Studio includes a built-in AI assistant powered by the Claude API. Use of this feature requires your own Anthropic API key. AI-generated output is provided as-is and may require review and editing. You are responsible for reviewing and validating all AI-generated content before use.

AI conversations are processed locally and are not stored or accessed by Meno. Your use of the Claude API is also subject to Anthropic's terms of service.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

- Use the Services for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Services or related systems
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Meno Studio application beyond what is permitted by law
- Redistribute, sublicense, or resell the Meno software without authorization
- Use the Services to create content that infringes on the intellectual property rights of others
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Services

9. Third-Party Services

The Services integrate with third-party platforms including GitHub, Anthropic (Claude API), Polar, and hosting providers (Netlify, Cloudflare Pages, Vercel, etc.). Your use of these third-party services is governed by their respective terms and policies. Meno is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of third-party services.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. AI-generated content may contain errors and should be reviewed before use in production.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Meno shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Services.

Since your projects are stored locally on your machine, you are responsible for maintaining backups of your work. Meno is not liable for any loss of local data.

12. Termination

You may stop using the Services at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms. Upon termination, your right to use Meno Studio ceases, but you retain full ownership of all projects and exported code created during your use of the Services.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you. Continued use of the Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
